Madhav National Park is a unique blend of natural splendor, history, and architectural wonders. Located in the Shivpuri District of Madhya Pradesh, this park spans approximately 354 square kilometers. It was notified as a National Park in 1958.

How to reach

By Air -The nearest airport to Madhav National Park is Gwalior Airport. You can hire a taxi or take a bus to the park from there.

By Train -Shivpuri railway station is the nearest railway station. It is well connected to major cities in India. From the station, taxis and buses are available to the park.

By Bus- Regular bus services from Gwalior, Indore, Bhopal, and other major cities in Madhya Pradesh are available to Shivpuri. From Shivpuri, local transport can be used to reach the park.

2 Days Itinerary

  • Day 1: Start your day early with a safari tour in the forest. Spot exquisite species like the Chinkara, Nilgai, Sambar, Chausingha, and various deer species. In the afternoon, visit the ‘Shooting Box’, a vantage point to witness birds and animals.
  • Day 2: Visit the Sakhya and Madhav Sagar Lakes, which support various migratory birds. Spend the afternoon exploring the local culture and shopping.

Get Around

The park can be explored on foot, by bicycle, or by hiring a local jeep. Boat rides are also available on the Sakhya Sagar Lake.
