Experience the unparalleled ‘Jamra Beej’ festival in Menar village, Rajasthan, celebrated the day after Holi. For over 400 years, this unique event has showcased the villagers’ valor and heritage. Men don traditional attire, wielding swords and firearms, performing the spirited ‘Gair’ dance. The night resonates with the sounds of gunfire, cannons, and fireworks, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of historic battles. Women add to the fervor by singing songs of heroism. This festival commemorates the Menaria Brahmins’ victory over Mughal forces, a testament to their enduring courage.
